Allie Williams, IOM
Executive Director, CRA
The CRA Thought Leadership Councils have been functioning full throttle lately. A quick recap of some of the latest activities include educational webinars, providing session material for consideration at the COMMIT!Forum in October, deep dive presentations and open discussions with some of the top ratings and rankings research firms. I will highlight a couple of TLC’s here:
The Ratings & Rankings TLC conducts monthly calls some of the most influential ratings, rankings and research firms to share and discuss their methodology at a very high level while receiving insightful and constructive feedback from the group. The TLC collectively pulled together a comprehensive list of known ratings, rankings and research entities and the CRA created a survey to poll TLC members on the order and type of questions the TLC would like to discuss with these entities. The goal is to help TLC members (and other CRA members) constructively engage and learn with this important part of the sustainability field. We have heard from IW Financial, Sustainalytics, RepRisk, MSCI, RobecoSAM (DJSI), Bloomberg, TruCost, Thomson Reuters, and Corporate Knights. Future calls will be with Vigeo, FTSE, CDP and others.
The Responsible Supply Chain Management TLC has conducted two exciting webinars and is planning the third. We had over 100 join us for a unique conversation with the leaders of the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) and The Sustainability Consortium® (TSC). As every public and private company realizes, as well as non-profit healthcare providers, academic institutions and/or federal, state or local government bodies quickly learn, procurement decisions have a significant influence on every organization’s overall sustainability performance. As organizations look to improve their sustainability efforts, many miss the common denominators of sustainability: “reduce, re-use, recycle”. These two CEO’s will rejoin us at the COMMIT!Forum to continue the conversation.
